LaGlenda Bohannon

LaGlenda Lee (Benson) “Mea-Mea” Bohannon, 74 year old longtime Shawnee area resident, passed from this life Monday, June 5, 2017 at St. Anthony Hospital Shawnee.  She was born October 25, 1942 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. LaGlenda was a homemaker and was a member of the Fairview Baptist Church on Hwy. 3 just west of the Hwy. 99 turn off. On April 5, 1967, LaGlenda married Don Roberts Bohannon in Kansas. Survivors include her husband of 50 years, Don Bohannon of the home in Shawnee, Oklahoma; her step-mother, Jewell Roach; 2 sons, John Bohannon and his wife, Sandi Bohannon, of Earlsboro, Oklahoma; Don “Allen” Bohannon and his wife, Deb Bohannon, of Shawnee, Oklahoma; 1 daughter, Debbie Downey of Allen, Texas; 2 brothers, Tom Benson of Shawnee, Oklahoma, Jimmy Benson and his wife, Corrol Benson, of Tyler Texas; 2 sisters, Donna Campbell and her husband, Roger Campbell of Plano, Texas, LaShanna Talton and her husband, David Talton, of Earlsboro, Oklahoma; 7 grandchildren, Kaitelyn Bohannon, Lucky Bohannon, Chance Bohannon, Amanda Gamble, Brian Bohannon, Brandon Downey and Hannah Downey; 5 great-grandchildren; and a host of other family and dear friends. LaGlenda was preceded in death by her biological father, Harry Bradford, her mother, Edna Fern Benson, by her step-father, who had adopted her and she always referred to him as her “New Dad”, Donald Benson and her brother, Harry Benson. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Thursday, June 8, 2017 at Fairview Baptist Church on Hwy. 3 in Earlsboro, Oklahoma.  Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park in Shawnee, Oklahoma.  Rev Chuck Ustler will officiate the service. Casket Bearers will be: Chance Bohannon, Lucky Bohannon, Brian Bohannon, Keith Jolley, Keith Grissom and Hub Reed. Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma.
