Kevin Dewayne Grant, age 46 and a resident of Konawa, Oklahoma, passed away, Sunday, September 4, 2016 at his home. A Memorial Service is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Saturday, September 10, 2016 at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Konawa. Rev. Wesley Martin will officiate, and burial will follow at Vamoosa Cemetery. Honorary Casket Bearers are Richmond Cully, Jerry Skarky, William “Carey” Brooks, Clifton “Dew” Brock, Scott Hanks, and Guy Garner. Kevin (known as “Big Red”) was born in Ada, Oklahoma and attended Konawa Schools. He was a self-employed sheet rocker and a member of the Assembly of God Church in Konawa. “Big Red” loved watching OU and the New England Patriots football games. He loved collecting hats, making knives, cooking on the grill, and making jokes. He was also an avid John Wayne fan. He is survived by three daughters, Daphne Grant of Konawa, Rehea Moore and husband, Joshua of Flagstaff, Arizona, and Jaclyn Grant of Konawa; two sisters, Angie Brogdon and husband, Rick of Konawa, and Susan Stokes and husband, Rik also of Konawa; four grandchildren; three nephews, Travis and Tyler Harjo, and Pete Stokes; and one aunt, Barbara Jones. His is preceded in death by his mother, Martha Grant; and by his grandparents.
