August 2, 1933 - September 11, 2016 LUFKIN, TEXAS Kenneth Levon Tiffin, 83, of Lufkin, Texas, died Sunday, September 11, 2016, at his residence. He was born August 2, 1933 in Remas, Oklahoma, to the late Homer Henry Tiffin and Ora Lee (Bodkin) Tiffin. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Carroway Funeral Home. There will be a luncheon Saturday, September 24, 2016, at 12:00 noon at Trinity Baptist Church in Maud, Oklahoma, followed by graveside services at 2:00 p.m. Mr. Tiffin had resided in Lufkin, Texas for 10 years, formerly residing in Houston for 26 years. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and the Reserves upon leaving full-time service. He retired from Phillips Petroleum following 35 years of employment with seven years of international responsibilities. Mr. Tiffin authored the book Progressive Disciplines. He was an avid golfer and a devoted "Sooners" fan. He was a great baseball coach for Pony League and the American Legion, and a long time referee for both football and basketball. Mr. Tiffin was of the Methodist faith. Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Johniece (Noland) Tiffin of Lufkin, Texas; son and daughter-in-law, Tim and Linda Tiffin of Lufkin, Texas; daughter and son-in-law, Tina Tiffin and Ricky Lentz of Lufkin; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and two more on the way; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Joe and Deana Noland of Garland, Texas; and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Roland Tiffin; and sister, Juanita Johnson. Graveside services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma.
