A graveside service for Seminole resident Kenneth Jake Leonard has been scheduled for 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 26, 2006, at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens in Seminole.rnrnThe service will be officiated by Rev. Harold Turner, under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home of Seminole.rnrnLeonard died Saturday, Oct. 21, 2006, at his home in Seminole, at the age of 74.rnrnHe was born July 8, 1932, in Oconto, Neb., to Walter Ray Leonard and Maud May (Nester) Leonard.rnrnOn Oct. 9, 1954, he married Martha L. Shaw in Las Vegas, Nev.rnrnLeonard worked as a gang-pipe mechanic for West Kern Water District in Taft, Calif., before retiring in 1994. Upon retirement, he moved to Seminole, and lived here for the last 12 years.rnrnHe was a veteran of military service, having been a First Class Seaman in the U.S. Navy.rnrnLeonard was a member of the Temple of Praise.rnrnHe is survived by his wife, Martha L. Leonard, of the home in Seminole; two sons, Roger J. Leonard and Timothy J.
