Lifelong Seminole resident Margaret Kathleen “Kay” Barrett passed away on Tuesday, September 21, 2010 in Seminole, Oklahoma at the age of 62.  She was born on February 9, 1948 in Seminole, Oklahoma to Michael William Barrett and Bertha Mae Ford. Kay graduated from Seminole High School in 1967 and went on to the University of Oklahoma Arts and Science School in Chickasha, Oklahoma where she received a degree as a Certified Speech Therapist and Teacher, she taught in Missouri and worked at Seminole Junior College in the David Boren Library. She was a member of the De Gamma Ve Sorority and the Altar Society.  She was a member of the Seminole Immaculate Conception Church.  She is preceded in death by her father and mother, Mickey and Bertha Barrett and a sister and brother-in-law: Mary Rose and Pete Bergin.  She leaves to cherish her memories her brother, Patrick Barrett and wife Phyllis of Seminole and their children, son, Michael Barrett and wife Terry of Norman, Oklahoma and their daughter, Megan of Tulsa; daughter, Angelia and her husband David Goss of Norman and their children Zachery and Blake. Her brother, Jack Barrett and wife Patsy of Holdenville, Oklahoma and their son, Michael Barrett and wife Tammy of Talala, Oklahoma and their children, Jordan and Blake.  Her brother, Martin Barrett and wife Gloria of Seminole, Oklahoma and their children, Gina Allen of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma and her children, Ryan, Keely and Paige, Angelina Lenora of Seminole, Oklahoma and her daughter, McKenzie, Amanda Lenora of Seminole, Oklahoma and her son Jeremiah and Lucia Lenora of Seminole, Oklahoma and her son Jace.  Her brother, Mickey Barrett of Seminole, Oklahoma and his children and their mother, Connie Ziegelgurber of Edmond, Oklahoma, son, Brian Barrett and wife Susan of Richmond Hills, Georgia and their children; Brandon, Brent, Breanna and Bradley, son Matthew Barrett of Seminole and his son, Blake; and his children and their mother Rita Barrettt of Seminole, their daughter, Bevin Barrett Fletcher of Seminole, Oklahoma and her children, Raley, Kaley and Barrett Creed, son John Barrett of Seminole and his children, Jennie and Jace, son Micah Barrett and wife Kenzie of Seminole, Oklahoma. Her sister, Joan Barrett Roberts and husband Leroy of Bella Vista, Arkansas and their children; daughter, Melissa Roberts Vest and husband Eric of Bella Vista, Arkansas; son, Lyle Ray Roberts and his wife Michelle Boyle of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and their children, Helena and Cassandra. Nephew Hugh Bergin and wife Diane of Half-Moon Bay, California and their son, Donovan Bergin. Two dear friends Marie Dawson and Patti Campbell of Seminole, Oklahoma, also survive her. A Rosary will be held at the Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, September 23, 2010 at 7:00 P.M. and a Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Friday, September 24, 2010 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with Rev. Basil M. Keenan, O.S.B. officiating.  Interment will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery, Seminole, Oklahoma. Pallbearers will be: Jack Barrett, Michael Barrett, DD Patterson, Chris Anson and Tony Lenora. Honorary Bearers will be: Hugh Bergin, Matt Barrett, John Barrett, Michael F. Barrett, Brian Barrett, Jerry Anson and Eddie Anson.
