Katherine (Harjo) Foster

February 14, 1935 — October 1, 2011

Katherine (Harjo) Foster, age 76 and a long-time resident of Konawa, Oklahoma passed away on Saturday, October 1, 2011. A wake service is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, October 4th at High Springs Baptist Church in Konawa.  Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 5th at the church under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home of Konawa.  Sidney Lee and Jimsey Harjo will officiate.  Burial will follow at the Foster Family Cemetery in Konawa.  Pallbearers are Mike Jefferson, Jason Tiger, George Johnson, Roy Carpitcher, Johnny Micco, and Barton Joe Looney.  The Grandsons will serve as honorary pallbearers. Katherine was born on February 14, 1935 to Roman Harjo and Mae (Factor) Harjo in Holdenville, Oklahoma.  She graduated from Vamoosa High School and worked as a seamstress.  She was a member of the High Springs Baptist Church, and loved her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She is survived by six sons, Allen Foster of Harjo, Oklahoma, Herman Foster of Seminole, Matthew Foster of Edmond, Oklahoma, Adam Foster of Konawa, Issac Foster, Jr. of Seminole and Bill Foster also of Seminole; fourteen grandchildren, and six great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Issac on March 7, 2009, one daughter, May Sue Scott, and one Granddaughter, Tabitha Foster. Funeral Information: October 5, 2011, 2:00 PM Wake Service 6:30 p.m. Tues. Oct. 4th and Funeral Service at High Springs Baptist Church under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home located at 217 N.
