June Estelle Miller

November 4, 1931 — July 2, 2017

June was born on November 4, 1931 to Lloyd and Alta Beall. She grew up on a farm 10 miles north of Carnegie, Oklahoma and graduated from Alfalfa High School, then attended Carnegie Junior College. On February 2, 1951, June rode the bus to Georgia to marry Sgt. Howard Earl Scott. They made their home in Columbus, Georgia until Earl finished his tour of duty at Fort Benning Georgia. To Earl and June, four children were born, two boys and two girls. In 1962 both June and Earl decided to go back to college and in May of 1965 they both graduated from Bethany Nazarene College. They began teaching in the Yukon School system. It was at this time that Earl felt called into the ministry. The pastored three churches. The last was Midway Assembly of God near Fairview, Oklahoma. Earl passed away on October 31, 1969. June stayed in Fairview and taught school for three years and then moved back closer to family in Anadarko, Oklahoma. There she met Rev. Gene Miller and they were married on December 6, 1974. The following spring they moved to Seminole, Oklahoma to pastor a church, while in Seminole, June taught school in the Strothers Elementry School for 6 years. When Gene and June took the Church in Ada, Oklahoma, it was to far to drive to Strothers, so June accepted a position at Justice School. She remained there till she retired in 1992 from teaching little ones. June and Gene had a wonderful business as well, Gene raised prize winning birds, and while their health was good they traveled over the country to bird shows, selling many of their prize bird's and offspring's. The Millers were members of the First Assembly of God Church in Bowlegs, Oklahoma. June is survived by her husband Gene Miller of the home, they were married for 43 years. She is also survived by her children; Ed Scott and his wife Becki, Sheryl Ewing and her husband Mike, Steve Scott and his wife Theresa, two stepsons; Danny Miller and Terry Miller, a brother Cliff Beall and his wife Leila of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, two sisters Esther Page of Weatherford, Oklahoma and Juanita Swanda and her husband Denny of Carnegie, Oklahoma. She is also survived by Velta McSperrit of Seminole, Oklahoma. June has nine grandchildren, six great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. June was preceded in death by her parents, Lloyd and Alta (Cook) Beall, her brother Elmo Beall, beloved infant sister Sandra Sue Beall, June's youngest daughter Donna Moore has also passed away and will meet her in heaven. Funeral services are planned for 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, July 5, 2017 at the Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Roy Robertson officiating. Burial will follow at Little Cemetery.
