June Alice (Reynolds) Maxey, of Edmond, Oklahoma, entered eternal life on October 15, 2018 in Edmond, Oklahoma; she was a blessing to her family and friends for 85 years. The daughter of the late Jerome “Grady” and Hattie Elizabeth (Hack) Reynolds, June was born in Little, Oklahoma on June 15, 1933. June graduated as salutatorian from Prairie Valley High School in Oklahoma. She was a member of the Church of Christ as well as a member of Eastern Star and the Oklahoma Home Builders Association. June married Jesse Dorsey Maxey on May 6, 1951 in Little, Oklahoma; Jesse preceded her in death on December 17, 1978. June not only was a homebuilder but she was also a House Director for the women of Gamma Phi Beta and Pi Beta Phi sororities at Southern Methodist University where she was named House Director of the Year just before retiring. She liked to watch sports, loved dogs and birds and took pride in her horticultural skills. The family fondly remembers her as a good listener, a kind and compassionate woman, and the type of person who went out of her way to help others. June will be dearly missed by her two sons, Mike Maxey and Gordon Maxey, both of Edmond, Oklahoma, one daughter, Debby Samaras and her husband Tom of Coppell, Texas, one brother, Roy Reynolds and his wife Maxine of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, sister-in-law Faye Reynolds Truesdell of Shawnee, Oklahoma, four grandchildren, Lynette Morris and husband Billy, Dustin Maxey, Trent Samaras and Audrey Samaras, and one great grandchild, Jerrica Maxey, as well as a host of other family and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, Grady and Hattie Reynolds, her husband Jesse Maxey, five brothers; Alton Reynolds, Truman Reynolds, Gerald Reynolds, Wayne Reynolds and Terry Reynolds, and three sisters; Phyllis Reynolds, Ruth Cunningham and True Hinton. Funeral services will take place at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, October 20, 2018 at the Church of Christ, in Little, Oklahoma. June will be interred next to her dear husband at Little Cemetery in Little, Oklahoma. Kirby Hinds, minister of the Church of Christ at Little, will officiate the services.
