June Oretha (Sullivan) Johnson, 93 year old longtime Seminole resident, passed from this life Friday, May 24, 2019 in Seminole, Oklahoma. She was born June 22, 1925 in Darwin, Oklahoma, near Atoka, Oklahoma, to parents John Woody Sullivan and Maria Adeline (Baker) Sullivan. June graduated High School from Kiowa High School in 1943. She married Jesse Johnson on December 9, 1944 in Atoka, Oklahoma. June had worked as retail clerk for J.C. Penney for many years. She was also was a member of the Harvey Road Baptist Church. She loved attending bluegrass festivals, traveling with her sisters, Elva and Marie and most often this included a trip to Branson to visit Silver Dollar City to watch shows and listen to music. When not traveling, she enjoyed going to the Seminole Heritage House for lunch and activities. June is survived by her son Bill Johnson and his wife Donna of Seminole, Oklahoma, her daughter-in-law, Deevie Johnson of Hawaii, her sister-in-law, Irene Powell of Oklahoma, her grandchildren; Stacy Johnson of Seminole, Shelly Conner and her husband Trace of Seminole, Kevin Johnson and his wife Ladonna of Tecumseh, Kris Johnson of Seminole and Kara Johnson of Porterville, her great grandchildren; Jesse and Kalie Johnson of Tecumseh, Chase and Chloe Conner of Seminole, Macy Johnson of Seminole and Charlee Johnson of Porterville. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Addie Sullivan, her husband Jess Johnson, Lawton, Oklahoma, her son Jesse Johnson, Jr.,Seminole, Oklahoma, sisters; Lola Brown, Ollie Sullivan,Pearl Mabel, Ina Octava, Edna Sullivan, Elva Mae, Eunice Marie, Elza Eugene and Jewel Lois,her brothers Earl James and John William, Jr. and one granddaughter Tonya Johnson Graveside services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Thursday, May 30, 2019 at Darwin Cemetery near Antlers.
