June Bernice (Dement) Duck

JUNE BERNICE (DEMENT ) DUCK, AGE 88, and a life long resident of Konawa, Oklahoma, went to be with her Lord on October 21, 2021 at Mercy Hospital in Ada, Oklahoma.

A graveside service is scheduled for 2:00 P.M. Monday, October 25, 2021 at Konawa Cemetery under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home of Konawa, Oklahoma. Rev. Pam Shirk will officiate.

June was born June 17, 1933 in Maud, Oklahoma to E.L. and Delia (Updegraff) Dement. She had a kind , gentle spirit and was deeply loved by her family. June attended St. Louis, Oklahoma School System. She and Jim A. Duck were married November 16, 1952 in Konawa and lived, worked and raised children together for 58 years in Konawa. She managed many businesses throughout her life, including Duck Brothers Dozer and Trucking, Inc., The Konawa Feed Mill, and The Konawa Feed and Seed, as well as their own cattle and hay farm. In what little spare time she had; she loved to crochet, ceramics, and gardening. Above all else, caring for her family was her utmost priority.

June is survived by her daughter, Phyllis Duck of Konawa; three sons; Roger Duck and wife Ruth, of Ada; Gary Duck and wife, Lee Ann of Konawa, Oklahoma; and Robert Duck and wife Vicky, of Konawa. Ten grandchildren; Crystal Miller and husband, Charles of Green River, Wyoming; Amy Moriah Davis of Konawa; Jim E. Duck and wife Kelly of Muskogee, Oklahoma; Tammy Harris and husband, Cody of Ada, Oklahoma; Tim Duck and Chrissy of Konawa, Oklahoma; Mark Duck and wife, Jenni of Konawa, Oklahoma; Scott Duck and wife, Courtney of Konawa, Oklahoma; Misty Marie Willson and husband, James of Vanoss, Oklahoma; Kasey Gregg of Konawa, Oklahoma; and R.J. Duck of Konawa, Oklahoma. Twenty great grandchildren, Dakota, Dylan, Gabriel, Lydia, Emily, Kadence, Joshua, Garrett and Libby, Shelby, Jesse, Sadie, Rynleigh, Clara, Jackson, Aubrey, Kilee, Erik David, Scottlynn, Ryan and Lillie. Six great-great grandchildren; Logan, Addilynne, Alexander, Aurora, Haven and Radli. One brother-in-law, John Earls, three sister's-in-law, Martha Cross, Mary Dement and Nancy Riggle, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, E.L. and Delia Dement; her husband, Jim A. Duck, two brothers, Marvin and Leroy Dement; and one sister, Betty Jo Earls.
