Julie Hinds

Catharine Julianne “Julie” (Wingard) Hinds, 72 year-old, longtime Seminole area resident passed from this life Friday, May 7, 2010 at Unity North Hospital in Shawnee, Oklahoma.  She was born January 12, 1938 in Delphi, Indiana to parents Wilbur Wendell Wingaurd and Helen May (Bingham) Wingaurd. Julie had lived in the Seminole area most of her life.  She married Warren Lee Hinds on March 8, 1957 in Seminole and later moved to Shawnee in 1985.  She was a homemaker and a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Shawnee. Survivors include one son, Charles “Chuck” Hinds of Lindsay, Texas; three daughters, Carol Haynes of Shawnee, Oklahoma, Debbie Gurley of Wewoka, Oklahoma and Judy Thomas of Garden Grove, California; three brothers, Sherman Wingard of Bartlesville, Oklahoma, Don Wingard of Snowflake, Arizona and John David Wingard of Pryor, Oklahoma; two sisters, Susan Hickman of Lafayette, Louisiana and Mary Beth Harris of Arizona; twelve grandchildren; ten great grandchildren and a host of other family and dear friends. Julie is preceded in death by her parents; her husband Warren Lee Hinds who died on January 15, 1993; two sons, Don Hinds and Larry Hinds and by one granddaughter, Christy Jordan. Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 11, 2010 at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Seminole, Oklahoma.  Interment will follow at Little Cemetery located north of Seminole. Arrangements are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma.
