Judith Kay (Parkhurst) Hill, former Seminole resident, passed away on Saturday, December 11, 2021, in Ennis, Texas, at the age of 81. Judith was born on November 20, 1940, in Seminole, Oklahoma to George and Flossie (Payne) Parkhurst. She graduated from Seminole High School, Class of 1958. Judith played baritone in the SHS marching band. Judith enjoyed various careers in her life: her first job was working at Wackers Five & Dime, she was a telephone operator for Bell Telephone, worked on jet engines at Tinker AFB, worked for Wonder Bread & Wal-Mart. Judith was a Licensed Practical Nurse for Mission Hills Hospital and finally owned her own pilot car service business. Judith was a proud Cherokee Nation tribal member. In her lifetime, Judith was a member of the Church of Nazarene, Assembly of God, Tri-City Christian Center and Seventh Day Adventist.
Judith enjoyed traveling all over the United States, bowling, square dancing, playing bingo, crocheting and making her famous peanut brittle and apple cakes for her loved ones. Judith loved visiting with her family and spending every holiday together. Judith adored her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, as well as her many animals, especially her precious dog Jamie, who was by her side to the end. Judith also loved attending every softball and basketball game at Strother High School while her daughter attended there. She could remember stories about her childhood growing up in the Phillips Oil Camp in Seminole, where she made lifelong friends including her best friend, Glenda Gilliland Hardy.
Judith is survived by her husband, Jerry Hill of Ennis, TX; son, Jerry Tyrone Hill and wife Diane of Carlsbad, CA; daughter, Melody Ritchie Wilke of Virginia Beach, VA and her father Arthur Ritchie of San Francisco, CA; step-daughter, Loree Scott and husband Alan of Ennis, TX; step-son, Raymond Ritchie of Ft. Worth, TX; step-daughter Terri Ritchie Powell and husband Terrance of Rocklin, CA; step-daughter, Toni Goss Johnson and husband Alex of Coweta, OK; six grandchildren, Angela Self, Jerry Hill, Erin Lump, Haley Hill, Taylor Wilke and Riley Wilke; five great grandchildren, Caleb, Emery, Jerry, Lily and Dean; several nieces, nephews and many dear friends.
Judith was preceded in death by her parents; second husband, Eugene Goss; fourth husband, George Souza; brothers, Bobby Parkhurst and Billy Parkhurst; sisters, Lamoine Barton and Margie Kelley; nieces, Sharon Brack, Danaglee Dill and Lesha Anderson and nephews William Glenn Barton and Melvin Parkhurst.
Viewing will be Friday, December 17, 2021 from 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, December 18, 2021 at the Maple Grove Chapel in Seminole, Oklahoma with Bill Carlisle officiating. Interment will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery. Reception will follow at Swearingen Funeral Home from 12:00 p.m.-2:00 p.m.
The family is requesting all who attend the funeral to please wear face masks.
Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole.
