Juanita (Sexton) Thomas, age 91 and a resident of Konawa, Oklahoma, passed away at her home on Saturday, July 13, 2013. Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 17th at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Konawa. Richard Winters will officiate. Pallbearers are nephews, J.D. Branscum, Jason Sexton, Mike Akerman, Tommy Sexton, Jon Campbell, and Brent Sanders. Honorary Pallbearers are grandsons, Taw Thomas, Ross Crowl, K.C. Prewitt, Bryan Thomas, Trevor Thomas, and Todd Thomas. Juanita was born on October 18, 1921 in Konawa to Tom Sexton and Maud (Barnett) Sexton. She married Jack Thomas on February 7, 1942 in Konawa, and she was a member of the Church of Christ of Konawa. She is survived by two sons, Bob Thomas of Konawa and Randy and Patricia Thomas of Darby, Montana; two daughters, Connie and Roy Prewitt of Konawa and Tinya Thomas and Michael of Konawa; three brothers, Frank and Betty Sexton of Oklahoma City, J.T. and Shirley Sexton of Konawa, and Doyle and Margie Sexton of Konawa; two sisters, Jean Akerman of Konawa and Amelene Sanders of Moore, Oklahoma; 20 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren, and 22 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Tom and Maud Sexton; her husband, Jack Thomas on April 30, 1977; one son, Dennis Thomas; one daughter, Tommie Hord; two granddaughters, Raylena Anderson and Stacie Prewitt; two great grandsons; one brother, Howard Sexton; and five sisters, LaVonna Sexton, Lorene Sexton, Jewell Campbell, Pearl Campbell, and Iva Branscum.
