Juanita RDoomy Dixon, 81, longtime Seminole county resident, died Tuesday, January 6, 2015 in Holdenville, Oklahoma. Juanita was born May 23, 1933 in Jennings, Oklahoma to Oma Leta (Jones) and George Seward. Juanita has lived in Seminole county since 1975. She attended Draughn’s Business School in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and had worked as a bookkeeper for J & M Roofing for over 15 years before her retirement; she had also worked for Hartford Insurance Company, Roofers Supply Co. in Oklahoma City. She is remembered by her family as being a very loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She loved cooking and made the best biscuits in the world. She enjoyed canning and making great jelly, gardening, and making things grow, crossword puzzles and watching and feeding hummingbirds. She loved her family and they loved and admired her. She and Eugene also loved dancing and they did competition ballroom dancing.  She was a member of the Church of Christ in Okemah, Oklahoma, but had been attending the Church of Christ in Seminole. Juanita taught each of her grandchildren how to Snow Dance. Juanita Married Eugene Dixon on January 9, 1954 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Juanita is survived by her son George Dixon and his wife Valarie of Okemah, Oklahoma, two daughters, Curta Jean Mead of Okemah, Oklahoma, Loretta Byrd and her husband Robert of Okemah, seven grandchildren, James Dixon and his wife Lisa, Sean Mead, Charles Byrd and his wife Deana, Vernessa Mead, Sara Hall and her husband Matt, Cassandra Sipes and her husband Jimmy, Kristen Ashpaugh and her husband Jake, great grandchildren, Hailey, Lily, Austen, Makynzee, Emily, Marshall, J.R., Lorali and Brett. Funeral services are planned for 10:30 A.M., Friday, January 9, 2015 at the Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Seminole, Oklahoma with Chris Stinnett officiating. Burial will take place at Little Cemetery. Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma is in charge of services.
