Juanita “Essie” Azlin Dees passed from this life on Tuesday, July 11, 2017, in Shawnee, Oklahoma. Juanita was born to parents, W.L. Azlin and Cleo Jane (Little) Azlin on November 8, 1927 in Tecumseh, Oklahoma. Her step-mother was Pearl (Yarbrough) Azlin. In her younger years, Juanita enjoyed motorcyle riding, playing badminton, softball, dancing the “Jitterbug” and doing the “Mashed Potato”. Later in life she spent time playing dominoes, cards Rummikub and bingo. But Juanita's greatest hobbies were being “Ornery” and making a great meal for her family. Juanita worked as a house parent for “Hope House” and was employed by the Youth and Family Resources in Shawnee, Oklahoma. She is survived by her two sons and daughters-in-law, William and Agnes Zellers of Checotah, Oklahoma, and Ricky and Loretta (Mikeska) Keys of Shawnee, Oklahoma. Two Daughters and Son-in-law, Nell Rita Pate of Shawnee, Oklahoma and Juanita Hail and Frank Rivas of Shawnee, Oklahoma. Brother and Sister-in-law, Jerry “Hoss” and Tia Azlin of Shawnee, Oklahoma, three sisters and brother-in-law, Retty Ann and Lee Robbins , Elrita Baker, and Sandra Azlin, all of Bristow, Oklahoma. Grandchildren, Sharlene Peerson, Paula Pate, Pam and James Loman, Robin and Matt Anson, Sean Castoe, Stacy Studie, Kris Hail, Arion Zellers, Wesley Keys, and Jessie Kays. Twenty-one great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren. Juanita was preceded in death by her parents, W.L. Azlin and Cleo Jane (Little) Azlin, her husband, Archie Taylor, brother, Junior Azlin, Sister-in-law, Gussie Azlin, sister, Phyllis Rowe, son, Jimmie Castoe, daughters, Charlene Zellers and Donnita Day, and grandchildren, Tara Castoe, Cody Castoe, and Josh Keys. Graveside services for Juanita will be on Friday, July 14, 2017, at 2:00 p.m. at Little Cemetery in Seminole County, Oklahoma. Officiating will be Larry Sparks. Burial will follow at Little Cemetery. Honorary casket bearers will be Ricky Keys, Russell McCalip, Joseph Leathers, Victor Williams, Terry Kyle, Kris Hail and Tim Piercy.
