Juanita E. (Cowger) Ables, 84 year-old, Seminole resident passed from this life Monday, July 13, 2009 at her home in Seminole. She was born October 10, 1924 in Byars, Oklahoma to parents Conzie Cowger and Dollie (Bratcher) Cowger. Juanita married Louis E. Ables on January 12, 1942 in Ft. Worth, Texas. She had worked as a switchboard operator and later she and her husband Louie owned and operated “Louie’s Restaurant” in Del City. They moved to Seminole 31 years ago from Del City to become cattle ranchers. Sadly Louie preceded her in death on January 25, 2005. Juanita is survived by four grandchildren; Shane Smailey and his wife Erin of Oklahoma City, Tiffany (Smailey) Sipe and her husband Charles of San Antonio, Texas, Jerry Dylan Wade of Noble, Oklahoma and Atticus Wade of Noble, Oklahoma; three great-grandchildren, Kyle Smailey, Sava Sipe and Esme Sipe. Juanita is preceded in death by her parents; her husband Louis E. Ables who died January 25, 2005; one daughter Sherrye Wade who died in 2009; one son, Rodney Ables who died in 1967 and one infant brother, Buddy Cowger. Graveside services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m., Friday, July 17, 2009 at Sunny Lane Cemetery in Del City, Oklahoma. Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma.
