J.T. Lawson, 91, longtime Seminole County resident passed away on Sunday, June 20, 2010. He was born on June 14, 1919 in Maud, Oklahoma to Mal and Pearl (Edgman) Lawson. He married Edna Louise (Thomas) Lawson on May 20, 1940 in Konawa, Oklahoma. They just celebrated their 70th Wedding Anniversary with their family and friends. He graduated from Punkin Center and attended one year at ECU, he attended Wolf Freewill Baptist Church and served on the Wolf School Board during the 1950’s He owned and operated Lawson Truck and Dozer Company and retired in 1995, he was also a farmer and raised cattle. He loved his catfish pond and keeping them well fed. He loved his family and especially his grandchildren. He leaves to cherish his memories two sons and daughter-in-laws: Mike and Gayla Lawson of Seminole, Jim and Vivian Lawson of Eufaula and daughter Sue Nelson of Shawnee, Oklahoma, sister, Kathleen Lane of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, he is also survived by six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents and one sister Verna Lewis in 1998. Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, June 23, 2010 at the Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Allen Wood. Interment will follow at Wolf Cemetery. Pallbearers will be: Monty Yerby, Mark Newman, Larry LaRay, Bob Villines, Gary Aldridge and Tommy Hudson.
