Joyce Smith

Joyce Leaverne Smith,77 year old Tecumseh, Oklahoma resident passed away Monday, September 27, 2010 at Shawnee, Oklahoma. She was born September 13, 1933 in Maud, Oklahoma to parents Talmadge and Lenare (Bledsoe) Rhodes. Joyce has lived in Oklahoma for the past 36 years, she moved to Arizona from Maud, Oklahoma and then moved back to Oklahoma in 1962. Joyce married L.C. Smith on June 12, 1954 in Ada, Oklahoma. He preceded her in death January 8, 1994. She was employed at Wrangler Jean Manufacturing, Troxell Auto Parts and was a bookkeeper. She also belonged to the American Legion Auxiliary. Joyce's greatest enjoyment in life was spending time with her family, Venita, her daughter, Grandson and granddaughter-in-law Dustin and Larissa, grandson, David and her precious great grandchildren, Madison and Wyatt. Surviving Joyce is her daughter, Venita Baldwin of Tecumseh, Oklahoma; brother John Rhodes and his wife Sharon of Seminole, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Trinnet Smith, Hannah Smith, Dustin Smith and his wife Lanssa, David Taylor and Eric Smith, great grandchildren, Nathan Smith, Madison Smith and Wayan Smith. Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, husband, L.C., brother Charles Rhoades. Graveside funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m., Thursday, September 30, 2010 at Little Cemetery with Rev. Dale Gober officiating. Pallbearers will be Dustin Smith, Brandon Ricketts, Orville Morton, Kenneth Morton, David Taylor and John Rhodes.
