Joyce Maxine (Ladd) Mainord, 77, lifelong Seminole area resident, died Saturday, July 25, 2015 in Seminole. Joyce was born on March 13, 1938 in Seminole, Oklahoma to John Allen and Elsie Marie (Simmons) Ladd. Joyce grew up in the Bowlegs, Oklahoma area and attended Bowlegs Public Schools and graduated from Bowlegs High School in 1956. Joyce worked many years at Blue Bell (Now Wrangler) and also at Custom Size in Wewoka, Oklahoma as a sewing machine operator. After her retirement she later became an Avon Representative for many years. She was a member of the Bowlegs Assembly of God, where she was a Sunday school secretary for many years, a member of the choir and secretary of the ladies group. She loved to sew, crochet, do fill in puzzles books, feed the birds and always wanted to be on the go, she also loved her grandchildren and taught them many things. Joyce is survived by her daughter Theresa Plunkett and her husband Chuck of Seminole, Oklahoma, her son Gary Mainord and his wife Sandra of Bowlegs, Oklahoma, sister Betty Morrison and her husband Bob of Vamoosa area, south of Seminole, her grandchildren; Tiffany Duncan and her husband Mike of Seminole, Oklahoma, Keisha Mainord of Seminole, Oklahoma, Tarah  Mainord of Noble, Oklahoma, Kayla Coats of Seminole, Oklahoma, Cheyenne Plunkett of Seminole, Oklahoma, Ricky Bolin of Harrah, Oklahoma and Nikki Garland of Harrah, Oklahoma, Taylor Pavey of Blanchard, Oklahoma; great-grandchildren; Hailey, Dakota and Tayler Duncan, Toby Mainord, CJ Prieto, Mason Hodges, Tray and Brody Coats, Jordan Hayles, and Ryley Bolin, niece Donna Glasscock and Family of Vamoosa, Oklahoma and Nephews; Joe Morrison and Family of Ponca City, Oklahoma and Michael Ladd of Hominy, Oklahoma and the girls at Seminole Care and Rehab in Seminole. She was preceded in death by her parents, the father of her children, Garland Mainord, who died April 25, 1998 and a brother Jack Ladd. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, July 29, 2015 at the Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Roy Robertson officiating. Burial will follow at the Rest Haven Memorial Gardens in Seminole, Oklahoma. Visitation will be from 6:30 - 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 28, 2015 at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel. Serving as Casket Bearers are: Chuck Plunkett, Mike Duncan, Joe Morrison, Lance Revas, Jeff Cavett and Steve Roberson. Honorary bearers are: Alan Glasscock, Ricky Bolin, Tayler Pavey, Jimmy Brauning and Sonny Harjo. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma.
