Joy LuReva Evans, 74 Joy LuReva Evans, a resident of Albuquerque, New Mexico passed away Tuesday, January 1, 2013 at Albuquerque, New Mexico at the age of 74. Joy was born on March 25, 1938 in Wewoka, Oklahoma to parents, Arthur Richard Rose and Violet Marie (Lewis) Rose. Joy graduated in 1956 from Spaulding High School. She lived in Seminole, Oklahoma for over 20 years before moving to New Mexico to be near her sister. She was a member of the Midwest Baptist Church of Wewoka, Oklahoma. Joy married Cornell Evans who preceded her in death in 1990. Joy worked in the Health Care Industry as a caretaker for many years. She was known as the “Little Warrior” for her diligent work in caring for her family. She fought for the life of her children, parents and cared for her sister long before she died. Joy is survived by one son; Rick Evans of Ada, Oklahoma; three brothers, Kenneth Rose and his wife Barbara of Farmington, New Mexico, Richard Rose of Wewoka, Oklahoma and James Rose of Seminole, Oklahoma; two sisters, Norma Jean Gaines and her husband Truman of Muskogee, Oklahoma, Pasty Brown and her husband Jerry of Albuquerque, New Mexico. Four grandchildren; Levi Lehman, KaCee Thompson, Chad Evans and Kirby Evans, two great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Joy was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one daughter, Denise Lehman who passed away in 1987, and one sister Sandra Blevins. Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 8, 2013 at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Carl Whitfield officiating. Burial will take place at Little Cemetery, Seminole County, Oklahoma. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home of Seminole, Oklahoma.
