Joy Garrison Drake, 80, longtime Seminole resident died Saturday, June 6, 2009 at her home in Seminole. rnrnJoy was born November 21, 1928 in Seminole, Oklahoma to Birtchell B. and Velma Vivian (Criswell) Garrison.rnrnJoy grew up in the Little and Seminole areas and attended area schools. She received her Bachelor Degree from East Central University in Ada. Mrs. Drake taught 8th Grade English for many years at Seminole High School. She was a longtime member of the Church of Christ in Seminole.rnrnJoy married James Drake on April 16, 1948 in Seminole, Oklahoma and he preceded her in death on November 26, 1990. She was also preceded in death by her parents.rnrnMrs. Drake is survived by a son and daughter-in-law David and Janet Drake of Ponte Vedra, Florida and a daughter and son-in-law, Diana and Lee Stilwell of Seminole, Oklahoma. One sister-in-law Dorothy Sharp of Seminole and five grandchildren Justin Drake and Elisabeth Drake, Jeremy Stilwell and his wife Jennifer, Shelly Rolland and her husband Justin, Scott Stilwell and his wife Kala. Five great-grandchildren Allison, Reilly, Hayden, Hannah and Shannon.rnrnFuneral services are planned for Thursday, June 11, 2009 at 10:30 A.M. at the Church of Christ in Seminole, with Chris Stinnett officiating.
