Joshua Richardson

April 20, 1996 — July 12, 2016

Joshua Aaron Richardson, 20, Wewoka resident, surrounded by his loved ones and listening to his aunt singing “Jesus, Sweetest name I know”, succumbed with his battle of cancer on Tuesday, July 12, 2016 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Joshua was born April 20, 1996 in Ada, Oklahoma to Jeff Paul Richardson, Sr. and Suzanne Renee (Brummett) Richardson. Joshua was a member of the Seminole Nation of Oklahoma. He enjoyed his BB guns, video games, playing “Call of Duty” and other military games.  Branson, Missouri was his favorite vacation spot.  He received an Honorary War Party member of the Marines two weeks ago featured on Channel 9 news with Steve Shaw.  During his “Make a Wish”, he enjoyed his shopping spree, being driven in a limousine all over Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. His favorite spot was Best Buy, and he bought his sister a plaque, and Star Wars cups for his brother.  His Facebook page which was Josh Richardson Support and Information had over 1000 members.  His family would like to thank the “Toby Keith OK Kids Corral” for allowing them to stay in Oklahoma City with Joshua when he was having his treatments. He is survived by his father and mother, Jeff and Suzanne Richardson of Wewoka, Oklahoma; his sisters, Jayce Lynn Hodge of Kansas, Jennifer Lee Ann Richardson, Jessica Nicole Loafman, Summer Dawn Richardson and Sierra Rose Richardson all of Wewoka, Oklahoma; one brother, Jeffrey Paul Richardson, Jr. of Ada, Oklahoma; his wonderful aunts who helped him, Marlene Heinrichs, Judy Hamilton and Anna Stephenson; and his special aunt and uncle who helped care for him, Jimmy and Jeanie Parker of Clinton, Oklahoma. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Madeline Brummett, A.W. Brummett and Gene and Norene Perkins. Funeral services are scheduled for 1:00 P.M., Tuesday, July 19, 2016 at the Wewoka High School Auditorium in Wewoka, Oklahoma with Rev. Larry Chesser, Lewis Johnson, and Tony and Marla Chesser.  Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery, south of Wewoka, Oklahoma. Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma.
