Joseph Price Phillips

Bethel Acres resident, Joseph Price Phillips, passed away Saturday, July 15, 2023, at his home.

Joseph, the son of Walter and Francis (Oxendine) Phillips, was born September 3, 1961.  He was born and raised in Richmond, Virginia.  Joseph was a member of the Lumbee Tribe and was very proud of his heritage.   At 17, he joined the USAF and was transferred to Tinker Air Force Base, Joseph was very proud of his military involvement.  While stationed at Tinker he met the love of his life, Ginger.  He remained in Oklahoma raising his family and loving his wife.  Joseph loved to sing to his family and see them smile; he was a 3rd degree brown belt in Thai kickboxing; and he always made great breakfast and liked to visit his cats; and finally, he loved discussing history.  He loved diesel engines and being a mechanic, but nothing was as important to him as his family, and he adored his grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Joseph is survived by his wife, Ginger Phillips, of the home; three daughters, Kateri Phillips, Kristy Phillips, and Edith Phillips; one son, Joseph Phillips; two grandchildren, Adeline McKinney and Lucian McKinney; one brother, Ernie Phillips; three sisters, Denise Schultheis, Sandy Phillips, and Sherry King; and many other family members and friends.

Viewing for Joseph will be Friday, July 21, 2023, from 12:00 P.M. until 3:00 P.M. at Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole.  A private burial will be held at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Konawa at a later date.  Cremation is under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole.
