Johnny B. Vaughn, 83, Longtime Seminole and Prague resident died Tuesday, September 11, 2007 with his children and family by his side at Seminole Estates Nursing Center in Seminole, Oklahoma.rnrnJohnny was born May 1, 1924 at Little, Oklahoma to Warren Edward and Flora Angeline (Hopkins) Vaughn. Johnny was raised in the Little Community north of Seminole. He attended Mountain View Schools and Prairie Valley Schools in Seminole County. Mr. Vaughn served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II as a Private in the Military Police. rnrnMr. Vaughn was a longtime employee and propane truck driver for O.J. Green's Propane in Seminole and Blue Flame Propane in Meeker, Oklahoma. He also worked at the Ford Garage in his early years in Seminole. Johnny also was a farmer and rancher and drove a school bus at Strother Schools for a while. Johnny was a life member of the V.F.W. and the American Legion and also served for a time as Chaplain for the D.A.V. in Poteau,Oklahoma. Mr. Vaughn attended Little and Glad Tidings Assembly of God church's where he enjoyed singing and had an active role in various activities. rnrnMr. Vaughn met and married Opal Irene Warrenburg on July 1, 1944 in Seminole,Oklahoma, she preceded him in death on September 27, 1995. rnrnJohnny is survived by 2 sons and a daughter in law, Gerald Don and Janey Vaughn of Seminole, Okla. and Ron Vaughn of Seminole,Okla. 5 daughters and sons in law: Anita and Tom Lemmings of Seminole, Oklahoma, Linda and Buster Wilcox of Seminole,Oklahoma, Gayla and Dale Conn of Moore, Okla., Vicki and Mitch McAnally of Seminole and Ann and Danny McSperitt of Seminole,Oklahoma.rn10 Grandchildren, 12 Great Grandchildren, one great-great grandchild and 2 great grandchildren on the way, also surviving is Ida Mae (Hopkins) Ramey who was raised by Johnny's parents.rnrnHe is also survived a host of neices, nephews, family and friends.rnrnMr. Vaughn is preceded in death by his parents,brothers, Robert and Donald Dewayne Vaughn, his sisters, Lorene Burkhart, Thelma Fowler, and Dorothy Love. and one grandson, Jason Kyle McSperitt.rnrnFuneral services are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. - Friday - September 14, 2007 at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Seminole. Dr. Jack Medlock pastor of the Praise Center Assembly of God in Little, Okla. will officiate the service and assisting will be Mickey Shaw.rnrnInterment will follow at Little Cemetery north of Seminole with military honors.rnrnGrandsons will serve as casket bearers: John Lemmings, Steven Vaughn, Danny Wilcox, Mike Conn, Scot McSperitt and Travis Lemmings.rnrnServices are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Okla.
