Johnny Wess Eversole, 64 year-old, longtime Maud resident passed from this life January 1, 2010. He was born December 22, 1945 in Chandler, Oklahoma to parents Wess Eversole and Mildred (Higgins) Eversole. Johnny graduated from Saint Louis High School in Saint Louis, Oklahoma. Following graduation he served our country in the United States Army. Following his retirement from the Army Johnny worked at Tinker Air Force Base in Oklahoma City. He was a member of the Earlsboro Freewill Baptist Church; Maud Masonic Lodge and Tecumseh Masonic Lodge where he served as past Master Mason of both lodges; Member of the Maud Eastern Star; He was a Shriner, who also drove hospital van for the Shriner’s Hospital; He was also a Shriner's Clown with the Tri-Co Clown Unit; Johnny is also a retired minister. Johnny married Virginia Ann Reed on September 4, 1968 in Wheeler, Texas. She preceded him in death on December 7, 2005. He is survived by his mother, Mildred Eversole of Pearson, Oklahoma; one son and daughter-in-law, Johnny Eversole, II. and his wife Brandy of Maud, Oklahoma; one daughter, Teresa Goodnight of Seminole, Ok; one brother, Carl Roundtree and his wife Joan of Maud, Oklahoma; five grandchildren, Ashley, Kaitlyn and Hayden Eversole and Brandon and Clarissa Goodnight; he is also survived by a host of other family and dear friends. Johnny is preceded in death by his father, Wess Eversole; his wife, Ann Eversole who died 12/7/2005 and by his twin brother Jimmie Eversole. Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Thursday, January 7, 2010 at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Seminole, Oklahoma. Issac Ziegler will officiate the service. Funeral services will conclude at Swearingen Funeral Chapel with both Masonic and Military Honors. Interment will follow at Little Cemetery located north of Seminole. Casket Bearers will be: Jim Gwartney, Bill Buley, Bill Bruce, Gerald Holcomb, Randall Hale and Woody Hopkins. Honorary Casket Bearer will be: Luther Anderson.
