Johnnie Mae Alford, 62 year-old, Seminole County resident passed from this life Wednesday, July 22, 2009 at Unity North Hospital in Shawnee, Oklahoma. She was born January 11, 1947 in Seminole to parents John Larney and Malinda (Alexander) Larney. Johnnie graduated from Central High School in Oklahoma City. She worked as a “presser” for several different drycleaners including Rod’s Drycleaners in Oklahoma City from which she retired. Following her retirement Johnnie moved to Shawnee where she lived for 25 years before returning to Seminole County. She was a member of the Riverside Indian Baptist Church in Tecumseh, Oklahoma. Survivors include three sons and a daughter-in-law, Richard and Hope Alford, Kevin Alford and Kent Alford all of Shawnee, Oklahoma; two daughters, Diana Alford of Earlsboro, Oklahoma and Deidra Alford of Shawnee, Oklahoma; three brothers and sisters-in-law, John Larney, Jr. and his wife Betty of Kansas, Simon Larney and his wife “Bear” of Oklahoma and Harry Larney and his wife of Seminole, Oklahoma; four sisters and a brother-in-law, Sally Fixico of Seminole, Oklahoma, Shirley Fruit of Shawnee, Oklahoma, Idalena Mitchell and her husband Alex Ward of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and Cecelia Barnett of Talequah, Oklahoma; three grandchildren, Sean, Lana and Tusekia Johnson and three great-grandchildren; she is also survived by a host of other family and dear friends. Johnnie was preceded in death by her parents and by two sisters Linda and Rachel Bear. An evening memorial service is scheduled for 7:00 p.m., Thursday, July 23, 2009 at Riverside Indian Baptist Church located at 219 East Jefferson in Tecumseh, Oklahoma. Johnnie will be taken to Hitchittee Indian Methodist Church, located 5 miles east of Little, Oklahoma on Hwy 99A and a half a mile north, on Friday, July 24, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. and a wake service will be held that evening at 6:30 p.m. Funeral services are scheduled for 1:00 p.m., Saturday, July 25, 2009 at Hitchittee Indian Methodist Church. Pastor John Spradlin of Riverside Indian Bapitst Church will officiate the service. Interment will follow at Hitchittee Church Cemetery. Casket Bearers will be: Timmy Bear, Chris Ataddlety, Duane Ataddlety, Marquis Fixico, John Ray Bear and Joseph Burgess. Honorary Bearers will be: Mitchell Harjo, Tony Walters, “Gugee” Katsitenseriio, Brian Keith Mitchell and Daniel Johnson.
