John Tallbear

John Edward Tallbear, 61 year old Shawnee, Oklahoma resident and former Saint Louis, Oklahoma resident, passed from this life March 8, 2019 in Seminole County, Oklahoma.  He was born in Shawnee, Oklahoma on June 8, 1957 to Johnnie Mae (Rhodd) Tallbear and Alvin Tallbear. John attended Saint Louis and Maud Public Schools.  He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Konawa, Oklahoma. John loved to play music and writing.  He was a member of the Iowa Tribe of Oklahoma. Survivors include three brothers, Floyd Michael Tallbear of Asher, Oklahoma, Robert Tallbear of Oklahoma and Alvin F. Tallbear of Shawnee, Oklahoma; one nephew, Robert R. Tallbear II; two nieces, Estien N. Tallbear Cervantes, Jennifer M. Tallbears; and a host of other family and friends. John was preceded in death by his parents Alvin and Johnnie Mae (Rhodd) Tallbear and by one niece, Misty Love Tallbear. A Mass for John will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, April 2, 2019 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Konawa, Oklahoma with Father Adrian Vorderlandwehr, O.S.B. officiating the service.
