Longtime Seminole resident and beloved oilman John Dean Richardson passed away on January 15, 2007 at the age of 77. rnrnHe was born on January 8, 1930 in Waurika, Oklahoma to Claude and Hazel (Thompson) Richardson. He married Karen Posey Richardson in 1976 in Ft. Smith, Arkansas. rnrnJohn was a graduate of Waurika High School. He served in the United States Air Force where he was stationed in Bermuda for four years as a sergeant and a Hurricane Hunter. John moved to Seminole from Duncan, Oklahoma where he retired from Halliburton Services. In June of 1974, John started working in this area for W. H. Kopezynski of Ada as a company man for his oil production company, Texhoma Oil and Gas. In 1978 John started working for Tommy Eeds of Seminole at his company, Seminole Acid. Shortly afterwards John and Tommy formed Apollo Oil Tools. In 1981 John bought Apollo Oil Tools from Tommy and continues to operate in Letha, Oklahoma with his son, Matt Cone and son-in-law, Mike Baxter. John was a member of the Harvey Road Baptist Church, Seminole Elks Lodge and a former Maud city council member where he lived in Maud for twenty-three years, prior to moving to Seminole eight years ago. John loved playing poker, buying and selling oilfield equipment and spending quality time with his family and especially his grandkids.rnrnJohn is survived by his loving wife Karen Richardson of the home, three sons and daughters-in-law; Mike and Kelly Richardson of Plano, Texas, Dusty and Tammy Gaff of Jett, Oklahoma and Matt and Dutchess Cone of Wewoka, Oklahoma, two daughters and sons-in-law; Shawn and Mike Baxter of Seminole and Vicki and Sam Brimer of Ardmore, Oklahoma. Four sisters; Opal Ward of Saginaw, Texas, Mildred Porter of Clute, Texas, Helen Edwards of Waurika, Oklahoma and Mary and husband Ron Penny of Duncan, Oklahoma. He is also survived by nine grandchildren: Amy Brimer, Josh Brimer, Jennifer Richardson, Jason Richardson, Dakota Gaff, Cheyanne Gaff, Chris Richardson, Collin Cone, and Caleb Cone as well as a host of other family and friends.rnrnHis parents precede him in death.rnrnFuneral Services are scheduled for 1:00pm, Thursday, January 18, 2007 at the Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel with Wade Robertson and Ron Sheppard officiating. rnrnInterment will be held at 11:00am on Friday, January 19, 2007 at Waurika Cemetery, Waurika, Oklahoma.rnrnPallbearers will be: Tim Edwards, Randy Edwards, Robby Whitefield, Tommy King, David Brown and Mark Childress.rnrnHonorary Bearers will be: Ralph Jones, Wink Kopezynski, Nick Johnson, Ronnie Conner, Kenneth Stalnaker, Larry Clements and Jessy Pierce.rnrnThe family will receive friends from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 17, 2007 for visitation at the Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel. rnrnrn Funeral Information: January 17, 2007, 1:00 AM
