Mr. John B. Fowler went to be with our Lord and Savior Sunday, August 9, 2009. He was born March 18, 1922 to Daniel Moody and Frances Arrabelle ( Lucas) Fowler in rural Pottawatomie County northwest of Maud Oklahoma. He attended school at Central and Wolf. He joined the CCC on April 13, 1939 and worked in the Henryetta, Oklahoma area. He joined the U.S. Army on Nov.2 1942 and served at Philippines, New Guinea and other islands in the South Pacific. After returning stateside he was discharged from the Army Jan. 26 1946. He was recalled to duty and served with the Army Air Corps and participated in the Berlin Airlift. On July 10, 1947 he re-enlisted in the United States Air Force and was a AP Armourer and Military Policeman until his discharge on July 9 1950. He was employed at Tinker Air Force base until 1974. He was a Radar Repair Technician. He was married to Eliza Rae Hunter on Dec. 24 1952. They were married for 48 years and had 1 son Jimmy Dee Fowler of Jones, Oklahoma. He had 1 daughter Johnnie Ann McGuire, Edmond, Oklahoma from a previous marriage. Three step-children; Alvin Henry Hart deceased, Alice Faye Bray, Oklahoma City, and Jess Thomas Hart, Rockport, Texas. 3 brothers and 3 sisters. 12 grandchildren, 15 greatgrandchilden. Dad was a gifted musician, his favorite instrument was the violin. He enjoyed making and repairing violins. He was in several bands, and played alot for the senior citizens dances and nursing homes. He was a member of First Southern Baptist Church, Del City, Ok. He was a great man and would help anyone in need. He will be greatly missed. We Love You Dad. Funeral services for Mr. Fowler are scheduled for 11:00am, Saturday in the Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Carl Whitfield officiating. A graveside service with military honors will be held at 1:30 p.m. at Wolf Cemetery located south of Seminole on Hwy 99.
