John Charles Dunson

John Charles Dunson passed away at the age of 47 on December 16, 2020 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He was born May 9, 1973 in Claremore, Oklahoma to parents Gary Dunson and Ava Francis (Williams) Dunson. He graduated from New Lima High School. He grew up in Seminole, Oklahoma and was a member of the Seminole Nation of Oklahoma.

John enjoyed listening to music, watching television, the 3 Stooges, going to church and playing with his firetruck.

John is survived by his father; Gary Dunson, his sister; Misty Dunson Garrett, nephews; Kat’cv Dunson Pohelemann and Fayv Daniel Dunson Pohlemann and niece; Shaianne Raine Dunson Pohlemann. He was preceded in death by his mother Ava Dunson, his grandparents; Mary Ponkilla Williams and Earnest Williams and Leah Cook Dunson and Frank Wade Dunson.

Wake services will be from 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, December 18, 2020 at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel. The service will be limited to 50 people with social distancing and masks are required.

The funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m., Saturday December 19, 2020 at Thlopthlocco Methodist Church in Okemah, Oklahoma with burial following at Little Cemetery in Seminole, Oklahoma.

Arrangements are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma.
