John Keith Atkins, 42 year old former Seminole County resident passed from this life Saturday, July 14, 2007 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He was born August 12, 1964 in Coalgate, Oklahoma to parents John C. Atkins and Katherine Deere.rnrnJohn had been living in Garland, Texas for the past 40 years. He was a fireman and paramedic and also remodeled homes on the side. John was a member of the New Heights Baptist Church in Garland, Texas.rnrnSurvivors include his father, John C. Atkins of Garland, Texas. His mother, Katherine Deere of Tecumseh, Oklahoma.rnrnAn adopted son, John Micah AtkinsrnrnOne adopted daughter, Ashley Nicole AtkinsrnrnStep-mother, Darla AtkinsrnrnOne brother and sister-in-law, Forest and Amy Atkins.rnrnOne sister and brother-in-law, Pamela and Randell Hurst.rnrnAlso a host of nieces, nephews, other family and dear friends.rnrnJohn is preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents, step-mother, Kay Atkins and two uncles and one aunt.rnrnFuneral services are scheduled for 1:30 p.m., Thursday, July 19, 2007 at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Seminole, Oklahoma.
