Joe White

June 12, 1947 — October 16, 2016

Joe Wayne White, age 69, departed this earthly life in Missoulia, Montana and entered into the presence of the Lord on September 10, 2016, after battling a long illness. Joe was born June 12, 1947 in Vernon, Texas to Carl Homer White and Mattie Maxine (Dardis) White.  Joe, along with his family, moved to Wilburton, Oklahoma in 1958.  He attended Panola Public School and graduated from Panola High School in 1966.  Joe worked as a machinist the majority of his life and retired from Spirit Aerosystems in McAlester, Oklahoma in 2012.  He also did a brief stint as a logger in Pocatello, Idaho in his younger years, where he developed a love for the western states and the Rocky Mountains. Joe was an avid outdoors man and loved to hunt and fish.  He enjoyed spending time on a lake and in the woods.  He was quite an expert on guns, knives, and reloading.  Joe became a Christian late in life and he loved the Lord and studying God's word.  He became a great witness for the Lord and loved sharing his love for the Lord.  He often delivered the sermons at the Skilled Nursing Home Facility, where he resided until his death. Joe was known for his sense of humor and kind heart.  He helped many people throughout his life and gave away more than he ever accumulated. Joe shared many nights at Hazel's table with his family and friends, playing a “long” game of cards or dominoes to the pre-dawn hours. Joe loved the Lord, his family, good food, and a good laugh. Joe is survived by the joy of his life, his daughter and son-in-law, Jolene and Tom Heggelund of Anaconda, Montana; grandsons, Ty Harp of Kalispell, Montana; Adam Heggelund of Kansas; and Aaron Heggelund of Anaconda, Montana; an older sister and brother-in-law, Carlotta and Dal Robinson of Cromwell, Oklahoma; a step-brother and sister-in-law, Jim and Vickie Williams of Red Oak, Oklahoma; step-sister and brother-in-law, Kathye and Mark Easley of Seminole, Oklahoma; nieces and nephews, and a host of friends. Joe was proceeded in death by his parents, Carl and Maxine White; step-mother, Hazel White; step-son, Bobby Zumdel; granddaughter, Josie Harp; brother, Dale White; sister, Mary Gale White; and his faithful canine companion, Lucy. Joe had moved to Montana to live with his daughter in 2014.  He lived there while battling a long-term illness until his death in Missoulia, Montana. A celebration of Joe's life will be held October 8, 2016 at 1:00 PM at Sulphur Springs Baptist Church. Funeral Information: October 8, 2016, 1:00 PM
