Joe Clyde Stackhouse

Joe Clyde Stackhouse, 70 year old longtime Maud, Oklahoma resident, passed from this life on Tuesday, November 21, 2017 at Colonial Estates Care Center in Shawnee, Oklahoma.  He was born June 4, 1947 in Fort Worth, Texas to parents Joyce (Grooms) Stackhouse and Clyde E. Stackhouse. Joe had worked several jobs throughout his life. He had worked in the petroleum industry in Texas and later worked for years at Bunk’s Service Station in Shawnee. Joe was an avid reader and was also a classic car enthusiast.  He enjoyed listening to gospel music, spending time outdoors and most of all spending time with family. Joe is survived by his step-father, Donald Brann of Tecumseh, Oklahoma; by two brothers, Ronald Stackhouse of Maud, Oklahoma, Eddie Stackhouse and his wife Casey of Maud, Oklahoma; by three sisters, Rebecca Eldridge and her husband Willard of Tazewell, Tennessee, Vicki Anderson of Maud, Oklahoma, Candy West and her husband Richard of Maud, Oklahoma; his former wife, Shirley Tucker of Irving, Texas; a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and a host of other family and dear friends. Joe was preceded in death by his father, Clyde Stackhouse, his mother Joyce (Grooms) Stackhouse Brann, one brother Donald Stackhouse, his son, Tracy Stackhouse and his special friend Mabel Works. Joe was also preceded in death one brother-in-law, Leroy Anderson and one sister-in-law, Janice Stackhouse. Memorial Services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Saturday, December 2, 2017 at the Trinity Baptist Church in Maud, Oklahoma.  Pastor Butch Bradley and Ed Bray will officiate the service. Services are under the direction of Knight-Swearingen Funeral Home in Maud, Oklahoma. Phone 405-374-2424.
