Joe Morlan

Joe Albert Morlan, Sr., 76, Shawnee, Oklahoma resident died Monday, August 20, 2012 at Rose Manor Nursing Home in Shawnee, Oklahoma. Joe was born December 22, 1935 in Shawnee, Oklahoma, to Clarence Franklin and Lela Belle (Mefford) Morlan. Joe was formerly of the Seminole and Maud, Oklahoma areas. Joe was a Lumberyard manager and contractor for many years in area lumberyards. Joe was also a member of the McLoud Masonic Lodge and Member of the McAlester Consistory and Shriners. Joe was married to Willma Marie (Harper) Morlan on March 12, 1955 in Gainesville, Texas and she preceded him in death on February 14, 1994. Joe is survived by two sons, Joe Albert Morlan, Jr and his wife Lisa Morlan of McLoud, Oklahoma and Kevein Scott Morlan and his wife Missy Morlan of Stillwater, Oklahoma and a daughter Regina Marie Morlan-Lloyd of Checotah, Oklahoma; one sister Irene Decker of Checotah, Oklahoma and ten grandchildren; Jacob Morlan and Bailey Morlan of Shawnee, Oklahoma, Kiley Morlan, Keaton Lloyd, Kolton Lloyd and Kelby Lloyd all of Checotah, Oklahoma, Derek Morlan and his wife Sophie of Shawnee, Oklahoma and Leighton Morlan, Justin Morlan and Kynsi Morlan all of Stillwater, Oklahoma, and three great grandchildren; Aubri Jo Stidham of Checotah, Oklahoma, Hayden Morlan and Peightyn Morlan of Shawnee, Oklahoma. Funeral services are planned for 2:00 P.M., Thursday, August 23, 2012 at the Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Seminole, Oklahoma with burial following at Sand Creek Cemetery north of Cromwell, Oklahoma. Officiating will be Pastor Clifton Briscoe. Casket bearers will be; Joe Morlan, Jr., Jacob Morlan, Kevein Morlan, Derek Morlan, Keaton Lloyd and Kolton Lloyd. The family will receive friends and family at a family visitation; 6-8 P.M., Wednesday evening, August 22, 2012 at the Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel.
