Joe Griffith

Joe Francis Griffith passed away on Saturday, January 17, 2009 at Integris Baptist Medical Center in Seminole at the age of 73. He was born on October 26, 1935 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to George Griffith and Margurite (Collins) Griffith. He worked for Meadow Gold Dairy, Borden Dairy, B.J. Hughes and owned and operated Seminole Quick Stop before retiring. He served in the National Guard during 1956. He married Phyllis Kay (Rogers) Wise Griffith on October 10, 2000, she survives him of the home. He is also survived by three daughters and sons-in-law: Gloria and David Guthrie, Brenda and Phillip Harris and Sharon and Danny Wood all of Seminole, brother and sister-in-law: Russell and Oralee Griffith of Eufaula, Oklahoma. He is also survived by nineteen grandchildren and twenty-one great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his first wife: Thelma Griffith, son, Jerry Beaird, daughter, Jeannette Bland, two brothers; Tom and George Griffith and one sister, Wilma LarkinsFuneral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 21, 2009 at the Swearingen Funeral Chapel with Pastor Herman Searcy officiating. Interment will follow at Little Cemetery, Little, Oklahoma. Pallbearers will be: Danny Wood, David Guthrie, Phillip Harris, Josh Carpitcher, Troy Pack, and Scott Hanks.
