Joe John Branham, 72, longtime Seminole resident, died Wednesday, May 21, 2014 in Seminole. Joe was born on August 25, 1941 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to parents, J.Q. and Pauline (Miller) Branham. Joe came to Seminole in 1972 from Tulsa, Oklahoma to become the owner and operator of the Double Cola Bottling plant in Seminole. Joe owned and operated the plant till 1981. Since coming to Seminole he has been very active in Civic and community affairs. Joe served as a Seminole Police Department reserve officer for over 25 years, the Seminole Civil Defense and Civil Air Patrol, being a airplane pilot , allowed him to help in many search and rescue operations, he was also a member of the Kiwanis Club, Seminole Jaycees, Seminole Bass Club. Joe loved fishing, planes, boats and motorcycles. After he retired from the Double Cola Plant, he became a self-employed contract oilfield pumper. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Seminole, Oklahoma. Joe is survived by Carol Branham of Seminole , his son Jay Branham of Seminole, Oklahoma, his daughter and son-in-law Debbie and Jerald Coym of Seminole, Oklahoma, and a special cousin that he grew up with, Ron Bradshaw and his wife Carolyn of Tulsa, Oklahoma. He is also survived by two grandchildren, Nicole Little and husband Josh Little of Seminole, and John Branham of Seminole and one great grandson Parker Little. Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M., Saturday, May 24, 2014 at the First United Methodist Church on Wrangler Blvd. in Seminole, Oklahoma with Rev. Gary O. Wilburn officiating. Burial will follow at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens east of Seminole. The family will receive friends and family at a family visitation on Friday Evening from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. at the Swearingen Funeral Home.
