Joan Harber

Joan S. Harber. Joan S. Harber died peacefully at her daughter’s home in Grapevine, Texas on February 9, 2010. Joan was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Herman and Florance Swanson on October 22, 1929. Joan was married to Glen Alton Traughber in 1951 and spent the first few years of marriage in Tripoli, Libya, where Glen was stationed in the U.S. Air Force. Glen predeceased Joan in 1960. Joan married Richard Edwin Harber of Seminole, Oklahoma, several years later. Richard Edwin Harber predeceased Joan in 1987. Joan has two beautiful daughters, Gail Anthony of Grand Junction, Colorado, and Terri King of Grapevine, Texas. She is blessed with three grandchildren, Cole Anthony, Leigh Welsh and Kristin Welsh. Joan has two wonderful sons-in-law, Jerry Anthony and Paul King who always loved, and helped out in time of need. Joan is survived by two brothers, Herman Swanson and Richard Swanson and numerous family members from Oklahoma, California and Texas. Joan was involved in many community projects in Seminole, including the Elks Lodge, OSU Extension Group and Community Service. Memorial Service for Joan will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 13, 2010 at the Historic Strothers Chapel, Maple Grove Cemetery, Seminole, Oklahoma.
