Jo Ann (Wheeler) Lucas

Jo Ann (Wheeler) Lucas, age 68 and a former resident of Konawa, Oklahoma, passed away from this life, Wednesday, March 15, 2017 at St. Anthony Hospital in Shawnee, Oklahoma. Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 18, 2017 at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Konawa, Oklahoma, and burial will follow at Vamoosa Cemetery.  Rev. Guy M. Cagle will officiate. Jo Ann was born May 5, 1948 in Konawa, Oklahoma to Verna (Algood) Wheeler and James Leroy Wheeler.  She married Ira “Ted” Lucas in 1985.  Jo Ann enjoyed sewing, reading, and being with family and friends. She is survived by one son, Jay Bray and wife, Amy of Harper, Texas; one sister, Geneva “Jean” Davis and husband, Burl of MaComb, Oklahoma; one grandchild, Nina Bray; and numerous, step-children and step-grandchildren; and by numerous nieces, nephews, step-nieces and step-nephews; and many friends. She was preceded in death by her father, James Leroy Wheeler; mother, Verna Deatherage; husband, Ted Lucas, and one sister, Teresa Adams.
