Jo (Ketchem-Scott) Hixon long time Seminole resident passed away Sunday, June 22, 2008 after a lengthly illness while living in Tulsa, Oklahoma.rnrnJo was born May 11, 1922 in Cass, Arkansas to William and Sarah Tennessee (Anderson) Ketchem. Jo moved with her family in 1927 to Tracy, Oklahoma, where she grew up and graduated from Prairie View High School. She retired from the Bob Sullivan Agency in Seminole where she worked from many years after having worked as office manager at the Seminole Municipal hospital. Jo also served as president of the Business and Professional Women's Association (BPW), secretary of the Paririe View Alumni Association. Jo was active in community affairs where she helped with meals on wheels, was a Pink Lady at both Seminole and Woodward Hospitals and was a tireless worker and member of the Tri City Church of Seminole, Oklahoma.rnrnJo lived in Seminole until 2001 when she moved to Woodward to be near her daughter and in 2004 she moved to Tulsa to be near her niece, where she lived at Burgandy Place, an Independent Living Retirement Center. She enjoyed the many activities, trips and new friends she made at Burgandy Place and was one of their more active resident.rnrnJo will be missed by her family and many friends who will remember her as quick witted and enjoying having everyone she loved around her. She was a devoted mother, aunt and grandmother and was loved by all. rnrnJo was preceded in death by her parents, seven brothers, three sisters and loving husband, Ed Hixon. rnrnJoe is survived by her son Jerry Scott of Lynnwood, Wa., her daughter, Shirley Ruble and husband Jim of Woodward, Ok., niece, Bobbi Gannaway of Tulsa, grandsons, Jeremy and Jonathan P. Scott of Lynwood, Wa., Spence Ruble and wife Jamie of Woodward and granddaughter Shelby Scott and husband Burris of Tulsa, great-grandchildren Burris and Brendan Smith, Jake, Rachel and Hannah Ruble.rnrnFuneral service to celebrate Jo's life will be at Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma, Wednesday, June 25, 2008 at 10:30 a.m. with Glover Mainord officiating.
