Jimmy Dale "Jim" Williams

Jimmy Dale “Jim” Williams, 81 year old longtime Seminole County, Oklahoma resident passed from this life Saturday, February 9, 2019 at his home near Konawa, Oklahoma.  He was born December 11, 1937 in Seminole, Oklahoma to Buel Williams and Violet (Caffey) Rogers. Jim graduated from Seminole High School in 1955.  He went on to serve our country joining the United States Army. Jim married Lynn Marshall on November 12, 1964 in Hurst, Texas. Jim went on to earn his bachelors in education from East Central University in Ada, Oklahoma.  He worked as an educator at Konawa High School for many years.  He also served as pastor of the Church of Refuge in Holdenville, Oklahoma. Jim enjoyed building things with his hands and had even taught construction at Konawa High School.  He loved to be with his family and to have family gatherings.  Jim raised cattle and enjoyed working around the farm which he considered a vacation. Jim leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 54 years, Lynn (Marshall) Williams of the home; four sons, Jeffery “Jeff” Williams and his wife Sherri of Gordonville, Texas, James Williams and his wife Shelly of Konawa, Oklahoma, Jason Williams and his wife Jennifer of Grain Valley, Missouri, Josh Williams and his wife Tammy of Fort Worth, Texas; one sister Joyce Harbeston and her husband Kenneth of Seminole, Oklahoma; by 12 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; and by a host of other family and friends. Jim was preceded in death by his father Buel Williams, by his mother Violet (Caffey) Rogers, by two sisters, Sondra McKee who died August 6, 2013 and Keitha Watts who died December 6, 2013. Memorial services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Friday, February 15, 2019 at Refuge Worship Center located at 105 Broadway of America in Holdenville, Oklahoma with Pastor Jimmy Freeman and Pastor Randy Berry officiating the service. Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma.
