Jimmy Arthur “Jimbo” Johnson, 70 year-old, longtime Maud resident passed from this life on Monday, November 9, 2009 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.  He was born February 23, 1939 in Konawa, Oklahoma to parents Bill Johnson and Edna (Grigsby) Johnson. He attended Konawa schools and later married Carol Brooks on November 3, 1962 in Maud, Oklahoma. Jimmy “Jimbo” served in the 45th National Guard and also retired from Expert Tires in Seminole after 34 years.  However, he didn’t stay retired for long going to work for Green’s Oklahoma Liquefied Gas in Seminole for five years. He enjoyed going vacationing in Branson and in California.  He also loved fishing with his sons and grandsons.  Jimmy loved playing his bass guitar at Church until his health wouldn’t permit. Jimmy and his wife Carol were active in Immanuel Fellowship Church in Seminole, Oklahoma for many years and are currently members of The Peoples' Church in Maud, Oklahoma. Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Carol (Brooks) Johnson of the home; three sons, Kenneth “Kenny” Johnson and his wife Nikki of Seminole, Oklahoma, Michael “Scott” and his companion May Hollenbeck of Maud, Oklahoma and Anthony “Tony” Johnson and his wife Jeri of Seminole, Oklahoma; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Charles Johnson of Dallas, Texas and David Johnson and his wife Saundra of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; three sisters and a brother-in-law, Frankie Cochran of Konawa, Oklahoma, Louise Chapman of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and Wanda Ferguson and her husband Bill of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; seven grandsons, Michael, Zachary, Kory, Dylan, Cody Tyler, Taylor and Jase Johnson; many nephews, nieces and a host of other family and dear friends. Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Danny Johnson and by one brother, Wayne Johnson. There will be a great void in our lives without Jimmy, he taught us many great life lessons through his quiet manner.  He will remain in our hearts, as we know he is now with his Lord and Savior where we will be with him again someday. Memorial services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Saturday, November 14, 2009 at The Peoples' Church in Maud, Oklahoma.  Rev. Steve George of Atlanta Georgia and Pastor Larry Chesser will officiate the service. Cremation services are under the direction of Knight-Swearingen Funeral Home in Maud, Oklahoma.
