Jimmy Ray Guthrie, 72 year old longtime Seminole resident, passed from this life surrounded by his loving family at his home in Seminole on Thursday, August 8, 2019.  He was born March 23, 1947 in Seminole to parents Raymond Lexas Guthrie and Esther Mae (Pate) Guthrie. Jimmy graduated from Seminole High School and attended Oklahoma State University for 3 years.  Jimmy served his country in the United States Air Force and the Air Force Reserve. Jimmy married Virginia Ann Rimer on July 1, 1989 in Seminole. He worked at Mid-Continent Supply and retired from Wrangler after 26 years as a Supervisor in shipping and receiving.He enjoyed golfing and bowling in his spare time. Jimmy is survived by his wife of 30 years, Virginia, of the home; his son; Bryan Guthrie of Seminole, Oklahoma, his daughter; Kelly Hamm and her husband Chad of Shawnee, Oklahoma, his stepsons; Kenny Houck and his wife Lora of Rogers, Arkansas and Karl Houck and his wife Cindy of Russell, Kansas, his brothers; Johnny Yandell and his wife Ann of Edmond, Oklahoma and David Guthrie and his wife Gloria of Shawnee, Oklahoma, grandchildren; Dylan Guthrie, Jillian Guthrie, Caleb Hamm, Brian Houck, Laura Giebler, Kristan Newton, great-grandchildren;Kylie Houck, Paxton Newton, Ella Giebler, Hayden Giebler, Landon Giebler, Athena Houck, Rosemary Vazquez and Xavier Vazquez and former wife and mother of his children, Linda Moore of Seminole. He was preceded in death by his parents. The family would like to thank Angelic Hospice and their nursing staff for the wonderful care they gave Jimmy. The family will be receiving friends Friday, August 16, 2019 from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma. Memorial services with military honors will be held Saturday, August 17, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Seminole, Oklahoma. Randall Miller will officiate the service.
