Jimmy Frank Goostree

Jimmy Frank Goostree, 79 year old longtime Macomb resident, passed from this life Friday, May 3, 2019 at Integris Southwest Medical Center Hospital in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.  He was born December 21, 1939 in Cassville, Missouri to parents Aulton S. Goostree and Amanda E. (Howerton) Goostree. Jim was raised in Cassville and graduated from Cassville High School, he went on to serve in the United States Army 101st Airborne earning the rank of Specialist 4. On 02 June 1962, Jim married the love of his life Barbara Gail Stanton in Cassville, Missouri. Jim began working as a truck driver for Lee Way Motor Freight in 1965, then in 1971 knowing this was not a life for a father, he went into management. By 1980 Jim had become Division Operations Manager for Penske Logistics, achieving a position as head of logistics at General Motors from where he retired at the age of 69 years. Jim enjoyed gardening, golfing, and spending time with his family.  He served as a Deacon at Temple Baptist Church in Shawnee, Oklahoma. Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Barbara G. Goostree of the home; one son, Jeffrey Brett Goostree and his wife Maria of Rogers, Arkansas; two daughters, Chrisey Lynn Stanley (who shared the same birthday as her dad) and her husband Tony of Herndon, Virginia, Lee Ann Cross of Shawnee, Oklahoma; one brother, Bill Goostree and his wife Carol of Cheyenne, Wyoming; by one brother-in-law, Gregory Stanton of Cave Springs, Arkansas; one sister-in-law, Janie Goostree of Seminole, Oklahoma; three grandchildren, Halle Upshaw, Brett Cross and Ava Stanley;  Jim is also survived by a host of other family and friends. Including his Church family. Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Aulton and Amanda Goostree and by one brother Larry Goostree. A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, July 13, 2019 at Temple Baptist Church located at 1234 E. Highland Street in Shawnee, Oklahoma with Bro. Mike Craig officiating the service. Military Honors will be provided by the United States Army.
