Jimmy Dail Blakley, 70, Seminole resident, died Sunday, January 11, 2015 in Edmond, Oklahoma. Jimmy was born May 2, 1944 in Olustee, Oklahoma, to Hagar Marie ( Atterberry) and Troy Charles Blakley. Jim came to Seminole 35 years ago from La Grange, Georgia to make Seminole his home. He was a member of the Nazarene Church where he was active and sang at services there. Jim was a cowboy and loved horses and goats; he played the guitar and piano. Jim owned and operated Jim’s Service Center in Seminole, Oklahoma where he had done mechanic work for over 20 years. Before owning his own business he was a roustabout for Red’s Roustabout service, drove for Bill Clark’s Wrecker Service and drove for Little River Express. Jim married Mary Ann (Goodfellow) Blakley on May 8, 1962 in Quanah, Texas. Jim is survived by his son and daughter-in-law Jimmy and Vicky Blakley of Seminole, Oklahoma. Two daughters Connie and Steve Little Seminole, Oklahoma and Joyce and Kevin Anderson of Norman, Oklahoma, his brother and sister-in-law, Johnny and Glenda Blakley of West Point, Georgia and sister and brother-in-law Lou Ann and Jerry Templeton of Valley, Alabama, eight grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Thursday, January 15, 2015 at the Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Seminole with Pastors Danny and Linda Allison officiating. Funeral service arrangements are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma.
