Jimmie Arlan Duck

Jimmie Arlan Duck, age 79 and a life-long resident of Konawa, Oklahoma, passed away at his residence on Sunday, August 1, 2010. Graveside services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 4th at Konawa Cemetery under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Konawa.  Rev. Pam Shirk, Pastor of the First United Methodist Church of Konawa will officiate and Richard Winters, Pastor of the Church of Christ of Konawa will assist.  Pallbearers are Jim E. Duck, Tim Duck, Mark Duck, Scott Duck, R. J. Duck, and Travis Gregg.  Honorary pallbearers are Marcus Gutierrez, Eric Hatton, Frank Wilson, Mike Boren, and Charles Miller. Jimmie was born on May 28, 1931, in Konawa, Oklahoma, to Willie Lee “Bill” Duck and Lillie (Payne) Duck.  He was an owner of an oilfield company, a farmer, a rancher, and a member of the United Methodist Church of Konawa.  He married June B. Dement on November 16, 1952 in Konawa. He is survived by his wife, June B. (Dement) Duck of the home; three sons, Roger Duck and wife, Ruth, of Konawa, Gary Duck and wife, Lee Ann of Konawa, and Robert Duck and wife, Vicky  also of Konawa; one daughter, Phyllis Duck of Konawa; two brothers, Claud Duck and wife, Betty of Shawnee, Oklahoma, and Johnny Duck and wife, Barbara of Earlsboro, Oklahoma; two sisters, Billie Crownover and husband, William of Jones, Oklahoma, and Anna Jane Roe and husband, David of Konawa; one sister-in-law, Nancy (Duck) Riggle of Konawa; ten grandchildren, Crystal and Charles Miller of Vanoss, Oklahoma, Amy and Marcus Gutierrez of Ada, Oklahoma, Jim and Kelley Duck of Musgokee, Oklahoma, Tammy Brakhage of Konawa, Tim Duck of Konawa, Mark and Jenni Duck of Springdale, Arkansas, Scott Duck of Konawa, Misty and Eric Hatton of Oil Center, Oklahoma, Casey and Travis Gregg of Konawa, and R. J. and Brandi Duck of Ada, Oklahoma; seventeen grandchildren, Dakota and Dillon Miller, Gabriel, Lydia and Emily Gutierrez, Kadance and Joshua Duck, Garrett Rainey, Shelby Brakhage, Jesse and Sadie Duck, Kylee, Scotlyn and Eric Hatton, Ryan Gregg, and Laurel and Lillie Duck. He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie Lee “Bill” and Lillie (Payne) Duck; two brothers, Harold and Edd Duck; and one sister, Geraldine Meadows.
