Jim " JJ " James

Jim "JJ" James, 76 longtime Seminole, Oklahoma resident passed away, Thursday, September 20, 2018 at his home in Seminole. Jim was born August 28, 1942 in Muskogee, Oklahoma to Archie James and Chloe (Driggs) James Fry. Jim worked in the retail business for 51 years, first working for C.R. Anthony’s and the Wall’s Bargain Center. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church. Jim loved OU football, fishing, softball, watching movies, and especially watching his grandchildren in all of their activities. Jim married Judy Ann (Pierce) James on August 24, 1962 in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma. Jim is survived by his wife Judy James of  56 years , his mother Chloe Fry of Moore, Oklahoma, his son Jeff James and wife Heather of Seminole, Oklahoma, his daughter Jennifer Ready and husband Robert of Midland, Texas, his sister Linda Tanner and husband Ron of Moore, Oklahoma and four grandchildren Jensen James, Jacey James. Lauren Ready and Clay Ready, one sister-in-law Mary Sue Staley of Lindsay, Oklahoma and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father Archie James and a brother Tommie James. Grandparents; Claude and Luticia Driggs, Frank and Jenny James. Memorial services will be at 10:00 A.M., Monday, September 24, 2018 at the Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Seminole. The family request donations In lieu of flowers be made to the Seminole State College Educational Foundation for the “JJ” Scholarship.
