Jewelie Mae Dunlap Marzett, was born to Jewel Dunlap and Lonada (Brannon) Dunlap, September 17, 1939 in Earlsboro, Oklahoma. Jewelie was the first born. She was fondly called “Mae” by her family, dear friends and close relatives. She was named Jewelie after her father Jewel. She was also a very rare precious “Jewel” to all that knew her! She attended Seminole High School and graduated in 1957. Her class was the third integrated graduating class after mandatory integration of schools. She then pursued her higher education at Seminole Junior College. She met the love of her life at an early age and married Eudell W. Marzett, Sr.. She was a loyal devoted wife to him for nearly 53 years until death did them part. To this union five children was raised in Boley, Oklahoma which was the hometown of her husband. She accepted Christ at an early tender age. After she moved to Boley, Oklahoma, Jewelie Mae joined Chiles Chapel AME Church where she was the secretary officer for many years. She worked for the State of Oklahoma at the Boley State Training School for boys, which later became John Lilley Correctional Center. She later retired from there. Jewelie loved her family dearly and would tell her children that they were her best friends. She was a loving wife and a phenomenal mother. She will always be remembered for her delicious dishes, she prepared, with lots of love for family and friends. Cooking and crossword puzzles was her favorite past times. Jewelie Mae departed this life on November 16, 2014 early that morning with her devoted children right by her side. Preceding her in death, was her father, Jewel Dunlap, her mother, Lonada (Brannon) Dunlap, her husband, Eudell W. Marzett, Sr., brothers, Billy Don Dunlap and Mack Easley. She leaves to cherish her precious memories and her “Jewel” life will forever be celebrated by her devoted loving children. Four daughters, Karla Marzett, of Yukon, Oklahoma, Sherilyn Conger of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Catrice Marzett of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and Marander Marzett of Boley, Oklahoma; one son, Eudell W. Marzett, Jr. of Boley, Oklahoma; two step-sons, Reginald Knighton, Sr. of Seminole, Oklahoma and Ricky Johnson of Wichita, Kansas; two sisters, Wanda Phillips of Shawnee, Oklahoma, and Sandra Clark of Earlsboro, Oklahoma; one brother, Clayton Armstead of Earlsboro, Oklahoma and a host of special nieces, nephews, grandchildren, relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, November 22, 2014 at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will take place at Earlsboro Cemetery, Earlsboro, Oklahoma.
