Jerry Don White, 45, former longtime Seminole resident, died Thursday, June 14, 2012 at his home in The Colony, Texas, near Dallas. Jerry was born November 29, 1966 in Wetumka, Oklahoma to Donald Gene and Ann Jacqulyn (Hill) White. Jerry moved to Seminole, Oklahoma while in the 2nd grade and attended Seminole Public Schools and graduated from Seminole High School in 1985. He later graduated from Seminole State College with an Associate Degree in Criminal Justice. He then attended and graduated from East Central University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Political Science. Jerry proudly served in the U.S. Army from 1986 to 1991 as a Sargent and served in “ Desert Storm”. Jerry joined the U.S. Customs and Border Patrol as a Border Protection Agent. Jerry was currently stationed at the Dallas, Texas branch office. Jerry was a loving son and brother. He loved history and loved to travel to look at Civil War sites in the South. He loved reading about all the history of our country, which he started at a young age. He had a passion for music and played in a cover band in the Dallas area and recorded several songs. Jerry was a Sci-Fi Fan and was an avid reader of a variety of subjects. His mother, Ann Poplin of San Jose, California, his brother Terry White of Owasso, Oklahoma, his maternal grandmother Ophelia Hooper of Wetumka, Oklahoma, survives Jerry. His aunts and uncles, Travis and Suzanne Qualls of Wewoka, Oklahoma, Mary Keltch of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Denney and Wendy Hooper, of Texas, Terri Lynn Hooper of Norman, Oklahoma and Dan and Maureen White of Canyon, Texas, also survive him. His cousins Landon and Kristen Qualls of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Lisa, Greg and David White and families from Texas, and Heather Gaboury of Bentonville, Arkansas also survive Jerry. He was preceded in death by his father, Donald Gene White, Paternal grandparent’s George and Thelma White, and maternal grandfather, Jack Hill. Funeral services with full Military and U.S. Customs honors will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Tuesday, June 19, 2012 at the Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Seminole, Oklahoma with burial at the Wetumka City Cemetery in Wetumka, Oklahoma. Rev. Claude Butler from First Baptist Church in Wetumka, Oklahoma will officiate at the service.
