Jerry Johnson

Jerry Lynn Johnson, Konawa area resident, died Thursday, December 28, 2006, at his residence at the age of 63. He was born on January 11, 1943 in Maryville, Tenn. to Johnny Thomas and Pauline (Ekins) Johnson. He served in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. He married Wynell (Zachary) on June 25, 1988 in Alma, Arkansas. Jerry and Wynell resided in Asher, OK before moving to Konawa last year. He was a retired truck driver. Jerry enjoyed singing and playing the guitar and telling jokes. rnJerry is survived by his wife Wynell of the home; three sons, Dakota Scott Johnson of Konawa, Herbert Hasbell, Jr. and his wife Diana of Greenville, TX and Ricky Hasbell and his wife Shonda of Kaufman, TX; four daughters, Tina Lynn Sawyer and her husband Matthew of West Memphis, Ark., Nina Cotner and her husband Kenny of Asher, Kelly Johnson and Shelly Johnson of Cailfornia; two sisters, Brenda Cook of Mount Vernon, WA and Pearl Ann Taylor of Mulberry, AR; rn15 grandchildren, four great grandchildren and a host of other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Tommy Gene Hasbell and a special cousin, Roger Dale Poe.rnFuneral services will be held on Tuesday, January 2, 2007 at 2:00 P.M. at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Konawa with Chaplain Donnie Knight officiating. Burial will follow in Little Cemetery north of Seminole. Casket bearers will be Michael Poe, Dakota Johnson, Justin Cotner, Timothy Davis, Tim Johns and Rocky Wayne VanTanssel.
