Jerry Wayne Cooley, lifelong Seminole County resident, passed away Monday, June 2, 2008 at his residence in Konawa at the age of 60.rnrnHe was born June 6, 1947 in Vamoosa, Oklahoma to William Crawford Cooley and Nancy Elizabeth (Lane) Cooley. rnrnJerry enlisted in the United States Navy on June 2, 1965 and served his country during the Vietnam War. He was awarded the National Defense Medal, Vietnam Service Medal and Vietnam Campaign Medal. He received an honorable discharge on December 18, 1968.rnrnOn November 24, 1979 Jerry married Bobbi Ruth (Castleberry) in Konawa, OK.rnrnJerry was a truck driver in the oil field for many years having retired from Oil Well Fracting in Ada. rnrnHe is survived by his wife Bobbi of the home; rnone son, Orin Cooley of Konawa; rnthree daughters, Andrea Leonard of Konawa, Melissa Cooley of Ada and Cheyenne Cooley of Konawa; rnthree brothers, Bill Cooley, Jr. of Seiling, OK, James "Fuzz" Cooley of Ozark, Arkansas and Rex Cooley of Edmond, OK; rnone sister, Mildred Roberts of Cushing and five grandchildren.rnrnFuneral services will be held on Thursday, June 5, 2008 at 2:00 P.M. at First Pentecostal Holiness Church in Ada with Rev. Robert Ware and Rev. Ed Bray officiating.rnrnServing as casket bearers will be Jimmy Roberts, Greg Roberts, George Roberts, Rex Cooley, Clay Cooley and Martin Maggard.rnrnBurial will follow at Vamoosa Cemetery, east of Konawa.rnrnServices are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home, Konawa.
